We know you're busy behind the chair, so we did the writing for you. Below you'll find three ready to use client education blurbs you can copy, paste, and drop straight into your next newsletter or IG thread. No editing required, just share and stay connected.
How to prepare, maintain, and stay connected so your hair always performs
Your appointment is not just the two hours you spend in the chair. It's everything that happens before you arrive, after you leave, and in every day in between. The best results don't come from one single service they come from alignment. Consider this your complete guide to making every appointment, and every day that follows, work harder for you.
Part 1: How to Prepare for Your Next Appointment
So I can give you exactly what you're asking for
The most successful appointments start before you walk in. Not with perfect hair with clear direction.
Bring inspiration photos — and more than one. Not just the final look you want, but variations that show color, dimensions, length, and movement. The more I can see, the better I can refine what actually works for your bone structure, your lifestyle, and your maintenance preferences. A single photo leaves a lot of room for guesswork. A few gives me something to work with.
Tell me about your current routine. That means your shampoo, conditioner, treatments, and styling products. What you're using at home directly impacts your scalp health, how your hair responds to color, and how long your results last. This is often where I identify what's working and what's quietly holding you back without you realizing it.
Share what's going on in your life. Hair responds to your body and your environment. If you've had recent stress, hormonal shifts, new medications, or changes in your workout routine or climate, those things show up in your hair, in density, oil production, texture. You don't have to over explain. Just mention it.
Tell me about any upcoming events. A wedding, a big trip, a milestone occasion if it's on your calendar, it should factor into your hair plan. Timing matters, and the best results come from planning around your life, not after it.
One more thing worth saying clearly: if you're making a major change like going from dark to blonde, it will not happen in one appointment. And that's intentional. Hair needs to be protected as it transforms. We'll map out the timing, the stages, and the maintenance together, so you get where you want to go with your hair still intact and looking better at every step.
Part 2: How to Take Care of Your Hair at Home
What you do after the shower matters more than you think
What happens in the salon sets the foundation. What you do at home determines the outcome.
Start with a leave-in conditioner — every time. This is the most overlooked step in most people's routines, and it's also the most important. Think of it the way you'd think about toner in a skincare routine: it's not optional, it's foundational. A good leave-in acts as your first layer of defense, prepping your hair so it detangles more easily, absorbs styling products better, and stays softer and more manageable throughout the day. Without it, your hair is essentially left exposed.
Choose styling products that do more than finish. Your stylers should support your hair, protect it, and improve how it behaves over time — not just make it look good for a few hours. Two products I consider non-negotiable for most of my clients are the Goldie Locks® Signature Leave-In Conditioner and the Signature Serum. The leave-in reduces friction and prepares the hair before styling even begins. The serum offers heat protection up to 450°F, helps reduce breakage by 83%, and supports softness and shine without weighing the hair down. It doesn't coat the hair — it helps it perform better.
If you spend a lot of time in the sun, protect your hair from it. UV exposure does more damage than most people realize. It can shift your color tone, fade vibrancy, and dry out the strand over time. Using stylers with UV protection helps preserve your tone, your softness, and the overall condition of your hair between appointments.
The goal here isn't perfect hair for one day. It's hair that feels consistent, styles easily, and holds its finish longer — because your routine is actually supporting it.
Part 3: How to Stay Connected Between Appointments
Because your hair doesn't stop needing support after you leave
Your appointment is not the only time I'm your stylist. It's just the most visible.
Reach out when something feels off. If your style isn't holding the way it should, your hair feels different than usual, or you're not sure how to recreate a look at home, text me. Call me. We can walk through adjustments together, and more often than not, it's a small change that makes the biggest difference. You're not on your own between visits.
Don't let your routine run out. You don't have to wait until your next appointment to restock. If you're running low on something, let me know and I'll set it aside for you. If you loved something you didn't end up purchasing that day, I'll make sure you get it. Your routine shouldn't have gaps, especially when we've taken the time to build one that actually works for your hair.
Remember what you're actually investing in. I know your hair, not just how it looked on any given day, but how it behaves, what it needs, and what keeps it consistent over time. That knowledge doesn't disappear when you walk out the door. The experience continues in your routine, in your results, and in how your hair feels every single day after.
Remember great hair is a series of alignment. When your consultation is clear, your routine is intentional, and communication stays open, everything works better.
That's the standard and it's one we build together.
Have questions before your next appointment? Send them over. I'd rather plan it right than fix it later.
